Technology Evaluation & Analysis

CDH Energy has evaluated a wide range of new and emerging technologies related to buildings, indoor environments and other energy systems. We have broad experience evaluating the technical and economic impact of energy related improvements in residential, commercial, institutional and industrial applications. We evaluate the potential of emerging technologies through field monitoring and detailed simulations. CDH has evaluated a wide range of technologies:

  • Detailed field measurements of power factor correction technologies
  • Detailed heat transfer analysis of novel "deep coil" heat exchangers
  • Measurement and analysis of Coolbot controller to use a room air conditioner in a low-cost walk-in cooler
  • Assessment of automated, wireless controls that "learn" to shut down plug loads when office equipment is not in use
  • Advanced glazing and night-time curtains for very large greenhouses
  • Reverse osmosis systems
  • Paper mill and machine process improvements
  • Industrial ovens and drying processes
  • Novel heat recovery systems
  • Injection molding machines

We use our in-depth knowledge of emerging and established technologies to assess the benefits of these systems from various perspectives (customer, utility, society, etc.).
