Professional Experience:

Founding Principal of CDH Energy Corp. Performed design options analysis and energy simulations for retrofit and new construction projects, including LEED rating analysis. Led building systems commissioning for buildings pursuing LEED ratings. Developed energy projects including supermarket HVAC and refrigeration, waste water treatment plants and distributed generation. Developed educational materials, market assessments and made presentations to owners, architects and designers on application of geothermal heat pumps including feasibility analysis, design and operation. Field performance monitoring and energy simulation experience with building thermal systems, operation and controls in commercial, industrial and residential HVAC applications. Field performance monitoring experience with operation of electric, gas, absorption and engine based heating and cooling technologies and thermal storage. Principal investigator and project manager on diverse field monitoring projects including geothermal heat pumps, wind, solar, distributed generation, thermal storage, electric vehicles, and energy savings verifications. Developed computer simulation techniques for applications in building energy system analyses. Developed a variety of computer systems, programming techniques, automated data collection, database management and graphic environments. Led analysis in utility DSM programs devising approaches for technical evaluations. Developed storage charging controls for thermal storage equipment and electric demand limiting control for a multi-stage heat pump.
